brown coral thing

the first of its kind but not the last

This little brown thing has been hanging around me for years. I have no idea when I made it but i know how. To achieve this beautiful undulation you need super wet clay then add some more water, let the walls of your piece get ridiculously thin, then apply too much pressure and voila! They will bend and do crazy things especially if you have your wheel going at high speeds. They’re a pain to glaze (this one is dunked), and it’s near impossible to do this without getting a ton of cracks (because of the water).
