WELCOME TO MY VOID!!!
a place for me to dump all the things swimming around my brain.

OKAY.hello.

some backstory first: the idea for this website came to me a while ago! initially, it was just going to be the pottery archive, but now it’s become a whole different thing. I still don’t entirely know what I want for this website. At first, I envisioned it as this huge digital archive/library of all of my work and the various things that I collect. Then it was going to be that + a creative porfolio. But I’ve realized that I don’t want to just use this website as my creative porfolio. I feel like it can become something more. My ultimate end goal as of right now is to start posting almost exclusively on here instead of my blog (rip my substack: gold(dying)stargirl).

As for that blog, it was the space that I needed when I needed it. But know I feel like my desire to create has evolved past the capacity that substack as a platform holds. With my own website I have so much more freedom with how each post looks and the message that I want to convey. I’m not sure fully that I’m going to be doing away with my substack entirely, and definitely not immediately, but I do know that my attention will be shifted here, so I can focus on creating something that is reflective of who I am now and that will give me room to grow as I feel I am growing and changing rapidly by the day.

now for the present: I feel incredibly happy with this website! Let me explain it a little bit. So, this website houses (or will house) three main things: my pottery archive, my work archive that isn’t visible yet (articles I’ve written, radio shows, etc.), and this (my void). I recently rewatched The Good Place which gave the inspiration for the name. My void is the place where you can read ‘posts’ from me. They will probably range from style updates to interactive graphics to movie reviews and everything in between. My void will be updated as things come to me, almost like a stream of creative conciousness and it will regularly change and look different! I’m on an art journey (as always) and website/graphic design is something I’m super into so think of this as my living, breathing work in progress/learning tool.

LOL this is supposed to be an introduction letter and I’m just now intrdoucing myself. My name is Evelyn Logan (Ev only to some) and I’m an artist! I’ve done ceramics for almost 6 years, I also write quite a bit, and host a radio show. Blue is my favorite color to wear currently and also coincidentally the color of my braids. I am chronically and PAINFULLY online, but I’m actively trying to deprogram myself from all the craziness. My creative idol is Solange and if I could snap my fingers and have a lifetime supply of poutine I wouldn’t hesitate. (of course I have many more layers than this but you’ll have to stick around to find them out)

✧✧

I’m super excited to see what I can create with this website! And thanks for reading and coming along with the journey. This website would be absolutely perfect EXCEPT my void cannot have a comment section (tbh maybe for the best). I still want to have a dialogue about the things I post to here sooooooo idk what to do about that. see, total work in progress. for now just follow me on my instagram @ev_irl if you’re not already.

xoxo
Evelyn

p.s. the homepage video is very ~lightly~ edited footage from both of my pottery photoshoots! if you haven’t checked out my archive yet, you MUST. if you missed the vid you can watch it here ;)
